Maternity leave for women government employees from 180 days to 270 days i.e.period of nine months with full pay.the orders were issued pursuant to announcement made by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on 01.09.2016, promising to enhance maternity leave for government employees to nine months. She had earlier enhanced it from three to six months after assuming office in 2011.
